The Serpent~

Flee from sin as from a serpent. that will bite you if you go near it; Its teeth are lion’s teeth, destroying the souls of men~ Sirach 21:2

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5

The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life; And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.” Genesis 3:14-15

They shall lick the dust like a serpent, like the crawling things of the earth; they shall come trembling out of their strongholds; they shall turn in dread to the Lord our God, and they shall be in fear of you~ Micah 7:17

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour~ 1 Peter 5:8

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ~ 2 Corinthians 11:3

This great dragon the ancient serpent called the Devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world was thrown down to the earth with all his angels~Revelations 12:9

And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years~ Revelations 20:2

Who devise evil things in their hearts; They continually stir up wars. They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; Poison of a viper is under their lips. Selah~ Psalm 140:2-3

“Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.” Romans 3:13

Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears~ Psalm 58:4
