Being Offended~

Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense~Proverbs 19:11

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger~ James 1:19

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart~Ephesians 4:18

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him~James 1:12

Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets~Luke 6:22-23

Do not take to heart all the things that people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. Your heart knows that many times you yourself have cursed others~Ecclesiastes 7:21-22

As he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures~2 Peter 3:16

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance~2 Peter 3:9

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong~2 Corinthians 12:10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise~Proverbs 20:1

If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame~Proverbs 18:13

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons~1 Timothy 4:1
