A Haughty Spirit~

Angel__

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people~2 Timothy 3:1-7

Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you~1 Peter 5:5-6

Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor~Proverbs 18:12

You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Matthew 7:16

To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good~Psalm 36:1-3

They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work~Titus 1:16

For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble~Proverbs 4:16

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil~Romans 16:17-19

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall~Proverbs 16:18
