God Disciplines~

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. Prov 3:11-12

A fool spurns his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. Prov 15:5

And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons.

For what son is not disciplined by his father?

If you are not disciplined then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Heb 12:5-8

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it.

How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best;

But God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.

Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Heb 12:9-11

“Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.

For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.” Job 5:17-18

But when God does judge us, he disciplines us as his own sons, that we may not be involved in the general condemnation of the world. 1 Cor 11:32

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.” Rev 3:19

Do not forget that God can be severe as well as kind…Rom 11:22

Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the LORD binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.

Behold, the name of the LORD comes from afar, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke his lips are full of fury, and his tongue is like a devouring fire;

His breath is like an overflowing stream that reaches up to the neck; to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and to place on the jaws of the peoples a bridle that leads astray. Isaiah 30:26-28
